particularly in areas like the Hansonburg district and the Magdalena district,

where they are associated with fluorite and lead-zinc deposits. Barite,

a dense, white to colorless mineral (BaSO\({}_{4}\)), is often found

as bladed crystals on a matrix of colorless or clear quartz.

The combination is commercially significant, though New Mexico's production is modest compared

to national levels.
