Deming and the Tularosa Basin, are primarily found as thundereggs

spherical, cauliflower-textured nodules. These, along with other

New Mexico geodes, often contain quartz, amethyst, calcite, or

hematite, and can range from small to cantaloupe-sized

(approx. 15 lbs in size.
