Grossular Garnet is one of the major types of garnet and is composed of a calcium-aluminum silicate. There are a number of “species” of garnet, all of which tend to be found in mixed states; that is, rarely is a garnet crystal 100% one species.

Origin: Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mapimí Municipality, Durango, Mexico

MY Father left me 100's of Rocks & Minerals he searched for an found around the world in his travels, he was a long time collector, the scientific info on the specimens were not left to me so I have put together the most up to date information I can.
