Halite is sodium chloride and calcite is calcium carbonate. Though both are of same cubic system

and in colour, the hardness of both is also near same. Physically it cn be identified by test,

halite is salty as it is rocksalt. Acid test can also be performed, calcite will give effervescence with HCL acid.
